Muslim shouldn't participate in any program of non-believers.

Allah Pak Declares, “Those of you who shall keep in touch with the Kaafirs and Mushriks shall be considered as one of those.” For a Muslim, according to Qur’an and Sunnah, visiting any puja stage and participating in its programmes, helping or enjoying in those, taking of prasad, shopping in stalls of puja fair are all totally haraam (forbidden) and sheer Kabirah sin. Therefore no Muslim should appear in any puja programmes in anyway.
Prime Point of Allah’s attention, Imam and Mujtahid of the age, Imaamul Aimmah, Kutubul A’alam, Awladur Rwasool, Habeebullah and Mamduh Hazrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A’alee said, ‘Hadis Shareef has the reference, stated by Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Umr RwadiAllahu Ta’ala Anhu that, Huzur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam Declared, “One who keeps ties with some commune is a part of that commune and his disposals (on the Day of Judgment) shall also take place along with that commune.”
In this respect, a story of Hindustan is especially worth mentioning. There lived a famous and spiritually strong Wali-Allah in India. After his demise, another spiritually wise person dreamt him and asked, ‘O Wali-Allah! How are you doing?’ That Wali-Allah replied, ‘I am fine now but an extremely difficult time had passed over me that I cannot describe.’ The dreamer requested him, ‘Would you tell me the details please?’ The Wali-Allah answered, ‘Surely, I will! Because it has tough lessons in it for the earth dwellers.’ Then he continued, ‘After I expired, Farishta (angels) took me directly to Allah Pak. Allah Pak asked them, “Why did you bring him here?” They replied, ‘As a very special person, we brought him to You for Your appointment.’ “Useless bringing him here. His disposal will be along with the hindus!” Replied Allah. I urged, ‘O Baar-i-Ilahi! Why should I be disposed with the hindus? I was a Muslim indeed!’ Allah replies, “Since you did puja, so your disposal will be with the hindus.” Surprised, I tried to defend, “Swear upon You, O Allah Pak! I never even passed in front of a temple in my life, let alone a puja!’
Then Allah continued, “Remember that day when it was holi puja in India and you were passing by. Trees, animals, insects and households all around you, right and left, up and down, front and rear were made coloured. At this time, a donkey was passing in front of you which was not coloured. You were then chewing betel and nuts. You threw a spit of coloured betel juice from your mouth on the body of that donkey, saying, ‘O donkey! None made you any colour on this day of the holi puja! So I give you some!’ You think you didn’t do puja through that? Don’t you know that My Habeeb, Huzur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam mentioned, “An individual will be considered part of that group with which he keeps terms and moves and shall be disposed also along with that same group.” “So your disposal shall also be with the hindus”. Then that Wali-Allah approached, ‘O Allah Pak! I just didn’t realize it that way and none made me aware of that nor even my conscience stroke me!’ and then cried a lot and begged for the mercy of Allah. Finally Allah replied, “However, you are forgiven for the sake of your other virtues. Otherwise your disposal would have been with the hindus.”

From this incident, we need to wonder, being Muslims, how much efforts can we make either officially or un-officially in joining the puja programmes and how much assistance could we provided to such programmes and how much frolicking could we made or how much Prasad (food) could we consume or how much shopping could we do in their fairs. Do Muslims want to remain with other Muslims or they want to face the Day of Judgment along with the hindus? (Na’uzubillah!)
Hadis Shareef has the reference that, AkhiriRwasool, Sayeedul Mursaalin, Imaamul Mursaalin, Huzur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam Declared, “ I have been sent on to this earth to eradicate idolatry and the musical instruments.
In the Qur’an Shareef, Allah Pak Declared, “Verily, the mushriks and the idolaters are un-sacred.” Therefore, it is never acceptable that Muslims join programmes of such unholy class.
Allah Declares in Qur’an Shareef, in a prominent Sura, Sura Qaafirun that, To you be your religion, and to me my religion (Islamic Monotheism). Therefore, those who advocate that Muslims would attend hindu puja and hindu shall come to Muslims’ Eid is a bogus anti-Shariah preaching. And practically, even if some Muslims, out of their ignorance join some hindu puja or other rituals but no hindu shall turn up in any Muslim programmes of Shab-i-Barat, Shab-i-Qadr or a Masjid. Therefore, may it be official or unofficial, attending any hindu puja programme, participating in it, providing any (financial) assistance, eating prasad, frolicking and enjoying and shopping in puja stalls are all strictly haraam for the Muslims. Considering these acts as Halal would amount to losing one’s Imaan (faith) and turn to be a murtaad (apostate). So everyone should do Tawbah in this regard and renew their Imaan. Let Allah bestow upon us the abilities to do so. (Ameen!)
